This is my problem:
A whining or humming noise when i first accelerate, and sometimes when I am about to brake. Its not all the time, just ever so often. It comes from the rear and under the truck.
Now the truck rides fine on the highway at up to 70mph and also when its coasting.
i was told its my rear end and this is my only problem.
its a 93 suburban with a 350.
also i hear a clunking noise when i put the truck in different gears.
okay my rear end is low on oil, but I bought a big bottle of Lucas rear end oil and just put that one bottle on there. should i put 2 more bottles on there? also what about Posi Additive oil, will that help?
I had my rear u joint changed but i still have the same problem
I need a mechanics advice, please..................?
(1)do not put in another quart of lucas into rearend 1 quart will do fine.(2) does the noise sound like a bunch of bees if it does u have a bearing going bad in the rear end,(3) get under your truck and taking hold of your drive shaft see if you can move it back and forth (front to back) if it moves it has a bad bearing and you need to replace it.(4)jack up rear wheels off the ground take hold of tire and see if it moves back and forth or side to side if it does then you have a axle bearing going bad
I need a mechanics advice, please..................?
Have a oil lube place Lube your chassis also check your wheel bearings
THE LUBE GOES %26quot;IN%26quot; IT..... not on it !....
posi addative will only reduce a chattering feeling or sound during slow turns.
Use 80/140 for your rear end and fill it till it comes out the hole !
