my 93 suburban has been riding fine until now. when i turn the wheel or hit the gas hard, its making a hard clinking noise in the back. i had another suburban that was doing the same thing and was told it was the rear end.
does my 93 suburban need a trans filter change, or needs to be lubed up, or a new trans?
the driveshaft shakes a little when my husband check it.
it sorts of gives a hard kicking in the back, but otherwise rides fine.
Do i need some new u-joints, please help?
if the drive shaft moves back and forth when your husband shakes it then it,s the u-joint is bad or it could be the big nut on the pinion gear came loose behind the drive shaft. it don,t sound like the transmission to me. tell him to drop the drive shaft and change both front and rear u-joints and while he has the drive shaft out check the nut on the pinion gear.
