El Camio engine+transmission to Camaro?

I have a 79 model 5l v8 el camino with 350 transmission and 89 Camaro with 2.8 l v6 engine.

Is it possible to transfer el camino's engine, transmission and driveshaft to Camaro? can I do it without changing the axle shaft? I know that Driveshaft size might not match but I can weld it but I'm worried about the axleshaft and u-joints.

Yes it will fit but you need to step back and forget your %26quot;I'll weld it to make it work%26quot; thoughts.

You will need to change the engine mounts on frame on the camaro, you can get the v8 mounts at parts store for $20

You will need to use the ely's v8 rad.

To use a th-350 in these cars you need the B%26amp;M swap kit to do so cause of the torque arm. The 82-02 camaros/firebirds has an arm that runs from rear end to transmission as part of the suspension. The th-350 has no where to mount that arm. The B%26amp;M $100 kit has a bracket made to bolt onto th-350 trans and your stock torque arm mount bolts to it.

The U joints are part of the driveshaft. The 79 ely uses the same U joints (3RN size) as the camaro, but the stock camaro transmission is longer than the th-350 (unless its a long tail shaft model).

You will need to have your driveshaft cut to right lenght, end welded back on and shaft re balanced.. Yes I know you can weld, but you can not re balance the shaft.. Pay a driveline shop $75 to do the job right

The axles will be fine if your not making 400, 500 HP

IT WILL FIT BUT YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE MOTOR MOUNTS AND BRACKETS IF NEEDED.ALSO THE TRANSMISSION CROSS MEMBER AND REAR MOUNT WILL NEED TO BE CHANGED .ONE THOUGHT WOULD CHECK LOCAL PICK A PARTS YARDS AS THESE AND THE DRIVESHFT ARE CHEAP ITEMS.
I don't know what worries you about the u-joints and the axle shafts. The u-joints are part of the drive shaft and will be the same ones they have always been in the El Camino. The axle shafts will be fine unless you install some big slicks and find some way of launching the car at high rpms (such as 6000). Welding that driveshaft will not be such a good idea if you cannot straighten it and balance it. Otherwise any frame brackets and/or cross members and such should be readily available in the junk yards.
