Where are the mechanics that can help?

This is my problem:

A whining or humming noise when i first accelerate, and sometimes when I am about to brake. Its not all the time, just ever so often. It comes from the rear and under the truck.

Now the truck rides fine on the highway at up to 70mph and also when its coasting.

i was told its my rear end and this is my only problem.

its a 93 suburban with a 350.

also i hear a clunking noise when i put the truck in different gears.

okay my rear end has absolutely no oil because the previous owner didnt take care of the truck. but I bought a big bottle of Lucas rear end oil and just put that one bottle on there. should i put 2 more bottles on there? also what about Posi Additive oil, will that help?

I had my rear u joint changed but i still have the same problem

what is it?

sounds like wheel bearing maybe the diff also.

your ring and pinion are chattering most likely and the rear end will need to be rebuilt. you cannot run these diffs without gear oil and if its a posi or a 3/4 ton locker then youll need the additive as well or you'll be doing the same job again in 6 months
check ring and pinon noise/get going on quiet road/about 45 gently apply gas and then let off/if pitch changes on and off the gas its the ring and pinion/noise stays the same its the rear bearings at the wheels/if the car has hi miles it needs an overhaul
add rear end lube until its level with the plug. If it was driven MT, you will always hear a noise. IF you are lucky it will stay together but don't be surprised if the rear end isn't shot. They make a synthetic lube thats better but expensivePLUS you need to drain all the old lube. I would just add 80 or 90 weight gear lube and turn the music up- prayer cant hurt.
