I am asking anyone if they know what causes a vibration in a 2005 ford escape v6 when going down the road i changed some stabilizer bars that were connected to the frame and the struts or shocks but could it be the u joints going bad i cannot hear a clicking noise or anything like that when i back up or go down the road but something is going on

did you check your tire alignment. I know mine is off in my 2008 stang and the car vibrates like there's no tomorrow. thank g-d winter is over...zr tires welcome back!!!

could be a number of things Clogged Idle control unit or simply need a Idle adjustment another easy DIY. not sure what it would be called on a ford escape but on Acura integras its the IACV (Idle dont know what the A means control valve) very simple DIY if the location is easy to get to. it could also be your tie rods might quite possibly be bad or going or have become slightly loose. Most likely though you hit a pot hole dented the backside of the rim or alloy wheel causing the vibration or just more simply your car needs an alignment which also would have been thrown off by that same pot hole or hard object obstructing the road or just hitting a speed bump too fast can have the same affect.
Is it speed depending, or motor RPM dependent. The faster you go, does the vibration get worse?

It could be several things.

Tires - might have lost balancing weights, and become unbalanced.

Drive train - U joints might be failing in the driveshaft.

CV Axle joint - the inner CV Axle joint might be failing, on my 3000GT it failed without making any obvious clicks when you try to turn. It was car speed dependent.

A/T - your transmission might begin slipping, but this is unlikely the solution.
